Hello Everyone, I hope your summer is going well.

I am considering purchasing a new camera and I need some help deciding. I am looking for a semi-pro digital no more than $500. I am still fairly new to photography so something simple would be nice, although I would like to make it last a while so plenty of room to grow with the camera would be neccesary. A decent flash and changeble lenses would be preferable and I would want to alter shutter speed and aperture.  

A video setting with sound is another point that I would really want. I am undaunted by brand but I am familiar with Olympus.
